MIT WPU Testing Laboratory Now NABL Certified for 51 Specialized Engineering Tests

Pune: In a significant boost to academic and industrial research credibility, the MIT WPU Testing Laboratory has been awarded the prestigious NABL Accreditation (TC-16042) by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories, validating its adherence to globally recognized testing and quality assurance standards.

The certification is a strategic milestone for MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), reaffirming its commitment to technical precision, academic excellence, and industry collaboration.

The accreditation covers 51 advanced testing procedures conducted across five cutting-edge labs under the School of Engineering and Technology, including four laboratories from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and one from Civil Engineering.

“This NABL recognition reinforces our standing as a trusted testing and research partner for academia and industry alike,” said Prof Dr Sandip Chavan, Head of the MIT WPU Testing Laboratory. “It is the result of relentless dedication and collaborative effort.”

The MIT WPU Testing Laboratory is equipped with world-class instruments and follows testing protocols aligned with IS-516, IS-1500, IS-1586, ASTM E8, E112, E345, ISO-6507, and more. Equipment includes:

  • Universal Testing Machines (1000 kN, 100 kN, 5 kN)
  • Hardness Testers: Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers, and Micro-Vickers
  • Computerized Axial Fatigue Testing System
  • Compression Testing Machine
  • High-Resolution Microscope (RV3)

This high-end setup enables the lab to deliver precision testing services critical to mechanical and civil engineering applications.
